读经 :  創世記    Genesis  1 : 1 - 23 

1:1 起初，　神創造天地。
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

1:2 地是空虛混沌，淵面黑暗；　神的靈運行在水面上。
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the 
waters.


1:3 　神說：「要有光」，就有了光。
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
 
1:4 　神看光是好的，就把光暗分開了。
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. the light from...: Heb. between the light and between the darkness
 
1:5 　神稱光為「晝」，稱暗為「夜」。有晚上，有早晨，這是頭一日。
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. And the evening...: Heb. And the evening was, and the morning was etc.
 
1:6 　神說：「諸水之間要有空氣，將水分為上下。」
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. firmament: Heb. expansion
 
1:7 　神就造出空氣，將空氣以下的水、空氣以上的水分開了。事就這樣成了。
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
 
1:8 　神稱空氣為「天」。有晚上，有早晨，是第二日。
And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. And the evening...: Heb. And the evening was, and the morning was etc.
 
1:9 　神說：「天下的水要聚在一處，使旱地露出來。」事就這樣成了。
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
 
1:10 　神稱旱地為「地」，稱水的聚處為「海」。　神看著是好的。
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
 
1:11 　神說：「地要發生青草和結種子的菜蔬，並結果子的樹木，各從其類，果子都包著核。」事就這樣成了。
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. grass: Heb. tender grass
 
1:12 於是地發生了青草和結種子的菜蔬，各從其類；並結果子的樹木，各從其類；果子都包著核。　神看著是好的。
And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
 
1:13 有晚上，有早晨，是第三日。
And the evening and the morning were the third day. And the evening...: Heb. And the evening was, and the morning was etc.
 
1:14 　神說：「天上要有光體，可以分晝夜，作記號，定節令、日子、年歲，
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: the day...: Heb. between the day and between the night
1:15 並要發光在天空，普照在地上。」事就這樣成了。
And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
 
1:16 於是　神造了兩個大光，大的管晝，小的管夜，又造眾星，
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. to rule the day...: Heb. for the rule of the day, etc.
 
1:17 就把這些光擺列在天空，普照在地上，
And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
 
1:18 管理晝夜，分別明暗。　神看著是好的。
And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
 
1:19 有晚上，有早晨，是第四日。
And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. And the evening...: Heb. And the evening was, and the morning was etc.
 
1:20 　神說：「水要多多滋生有生命的物；要有雀鳥飛在地面以上，天空之中（原文作天空的表面）。」
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. moving: or, creeping life: Heb. soul fowl...: Heb. let fowl fly open...: Heb. face of the firmament of heaven
 
1:21 　神就造出大魚和水中所滋生各樣有生命的動物，各從其類；又造出各樣飛鳥，各從其類。　神看著是好的。
And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
 
1:22 　神就賜福給這一切，說：「滋生繁多，充滿海中的水；雀鳥也要多生在地上。」
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
 
1:23 有晚上，有早晨，是第五日。
And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. And the evening...: Heb. And the evening was, and the morning was etc

在1909年的9月29日，有個年輕人乘著一個如箱形風箏的奇怪玩意兒飛行。當他越飛越高時，便調整操作桿，讓他可以飛經紐約港口。 

人們都驚奇地仰望，港口邊的船隻也鳴起汽笛以示慶祝。靠近自由女神像的群眾更驚嘆地歡呼，為維爾伯．萊特飛向天空的創舉而歡呼喝采。

早在六年之前，維爾伯的兄弟奧維爾就已經駕駛了第一台飛行器。為何兩兄弟如此熱衷於飛行呢？
奧維爾解釋說：「想飛的慾望是從老祖先傳承給我們的……他們看著鳥兒能自由在空中翱翔，高過一切障礙物，全速暢行，心中好生羨慕。」

在設計他們的飛行器之前，萊特兄弟也花上了好長的時間研究飛行的鳥類，從中獲得靈感。

在創世記中，我們讀到「起初上帝創造天地」（1章1節）。然後上帝說：「要有雀鳥飛在地面以上，天空之中」（20節） 

我們稱許萊特兄弟的發明，但那位創造飛行生物的上帝，更加配得最大的榮耀，因為祂創造了鳥類和其他一切的受造物！HDF
