121:1 （上行之詩。）我要向山舉目；我的幫助從何而來？

121:3 他必不叫你的腳搖動；保護你的必不打盹！

小時候，叔叔嬸嬸曾帶我去密西根湖。那時我的堂兄弟姊妹們都大膽地到深水處玩耍，而我卻只在岸邊戲水。於是，叔叔諾姆問我：「妳會游泳嗎？」我只好承認：
「不會。」他說：「沒關係，我可以帶妳走到那裡去。」我仍不願意地說：「可是那裡的水太深了。」這時他向我保證：「只要緊緊地抓住我就行了，妳不相信我 嗎？」於是我緊握他的手，我們開始往湖心方向走了好遠。
當我的雙腳再也碰不到湖底時，諾姆叔叔把我抱起來，又向我保證：「我抱緊妳了，一切有我。」直到最後他才說：「好了，妳可以下來，自己站著。」原本我很害怕，以為自己仍在水深之處，但我相信他所說的話，而且照著去做之後，竟開心地發現自己站在一塊沙洲上。
你曾絕望到就像在深水中掙扎嗎？的確，人生困境可能讓人難以承受。雖然上帝並未許諾我們可以逃離人生的坎坷磨難，但祂確實應許說：「我總不撇下你，也不丟棄你。」

每當我們處於患難之時，可以確信這位信實的上帝必與我們同在。祂應許說：「你從水中經過，我必與你同在；你蹚過江河，水必不漫過你。」（以賽亞書43章2節）CHK

使我自始至終仰望祢，
絕不動搖、永不止息，
